Working Approaches
Recognizing the demand for resources and materials on a wide array of policy issues, GoGo Foundation conducts policy research on topics including participatory governance, aid transparency, political financing, electoral integrity, social accountability mechanisms, public sector corruption, political corruption, consumer rights, and the right to information.
The findings of our research and the resulting policy recommendations are extensively disseminated among national and international stakeholders, including the media, civil society organizations, research institutions, academia, government agencies, and the donor community.”
GoGo Foundation engages in advocacy and media campaigns to promote good governance, social accountability, anti-corruption measures, consumer rights, and the right to information. In collaboration with its district partners, GoGo regularly organizes interactions, orientations, conferences, policy debates, consultation meetings, and round-table programs focusing on various dimensions of these thematic areas.
Media campaigns are a crucial strategic tool employed by the organization to advance its objectives. GoGo consistently produces and broadcasts the Good Governance Radio Program, along with jingles and various electronic messages, to advocate for issues on a wider scale. In addition to media campaigns, the organization periodically publishes and distributes bulletins, newsletters, leaflets, policy briefs, and briefing papers on topical policy issues.
Specifically, the advocacy and media campaign activities conducted by GoGo Foundation encompass:
· Regular interaction programs, policy debates, consultation meetings, and roundtable programs addressing contemporary policy issues.
· Broadcasting of fortnightly Good Governance Radio Program through the Good Governance Radio Network (GGRN).
· Distribution of the bi-monthly newsletter ‘Governance and Corruption Monitor’ among various concerned stakeholders.
· Distribution of various thematic leaflets, policy briefs, issue papers, and briefing papers among target groups and audiences.
GoGo Foundation has developed networks with local, national, and international organizations to bolster collaborative efforts aimed at addressing longstanding issues and agendas. Through a robust network encompassing Good Governance Clubs and their District Coordination Committees in over a dozen districts, GoGo has effectively engaged at the grassroots level, enhancing capacity and advocating for good governance from the ground up.
To spearhead nationwide media campaigns, GoGo has partnered with local FM radio stations in several districts. This collaboration has evolved into the Good Governance Radio Network (GGRN), a pioneering initiative in Nepal. GGRN continues to grow as a dynamic network advocating for good governance issues nationwide. The radio network broadcasts good governance radio programs, jingles, and messages produced by GoGo Foundation.
In addition, GoGo serves as the secretariat for several key organizations including the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption-Nepal Chapter (GOPAC-N), the National Coalition Against Corruption (NCaC), and the CSO Social Accountability Alliance Nepal (CSO-SAN), which comprises various civil society organizations. These alliances are dedicated to strengthening the anti-corruption movement both within and outside of Parliament. Through collaboration with GOPAC-N, GoGo has facilitated the endorsement of international conventions such as the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). Furthermore, GoGo collaborates with prominent organizations including the NGO Federation, the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), and the National Election Observation Committee (NEOC). GoGo Foundation is also a Global Network Member of the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) supported by the World Bank. Additionally, GoGo Foundation strategically partners with local FM radio stations and CSOs.
