6) Providing expert services to national and international organizations, including their partners, on a wide range of governance issues. GoGo has provided expert services to the Helvetas, Lutheran World Federation (LWF), DCA-Nepal, CARE-Nepal, Stromme Foundation, FHI360, NGO Federation, UN projects, national, provincial and local government level CSOs on governance, public service delivery, right to information, CSO self governance, networking, policy drafting etc.
Civil Society Mutual Accountability Project (CS:MAP): Goal of the project were: Foster a more legitimate, accountable, and resilient Nepali civil society that is capable of advancing the public interest. The objectives were: strengthened enabling environment for civil society and media; Improved civil society and media capacity for effective policy advocacy and government engagement; More coordinated and effective civil society and media oversight of public resource use and service delivery; and Strengthened organizational capacity and sustainability of CSOs working in USAID priority sectors. GoGo Foundation strategically advocated ‘CSO Accreditation’ and ‘Corporate Social Responsibility-CSR’ to promote CSO’s self-governance. – Funded by FHI360/USAID
BIHANI Project (Building an Inclusive and dignified community by protecting human rights, augmenting non-discrimination and promoting integration of most vulnerable communities in Dhading District Gajuri, Gangajamuna & Khaniyabash Rural Municipalities) of Nepal. BIHANI Project aimed to five vulnerable groups affected by earthquake participate in local services and resources improving their food security and livelihood. The project objective were: Strengthen database on vulnerable groups, contributing factors of vulnerability and practical solutions to reduce vulnerability; Vulnerable groups and their representative groups empowered to claim their rights, social protection schemes and services; Vulnerable groups supported in ‘food and nutrition security’ through appropriate income generation opportunities; and Selected vulnerable HHs have access to resilient housing. – Funded by MoTT MacDonald/DCA/UKAid under a Challenge Fund to ‘Leave No-one Behind’
Our Education Project (Strengthening CSO Role in Governance and Accountability of Nepal’s Education Sector Project), funded by the European Union, 2016-2019. Project implemented in the Siraha, Saptari and Mahottarai District, Madhesh Province of Nepal. The specific objectives were: To increase key education stakeholders’ awareness and skills about legal provisions and requirements, and their roles and responsibilities for school governance and accountability; To build the capacity of local CSOS and school governing bodies to apply social accountability (SA) tools to improve compliance, transparency and accountability of public schools; To promote dialogue among all education stakeholders to improve citizen’s engagement in governance and accountability of the education system; and To strengthen local CSOs capacity in programming, operations, monitoring and evaluation, and organizational development. – Funded by European Union
Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index (CSOSI) Project, 2014 to 2022. This index provides valuable resource for donors, local CSO advocates, development partners, researchers and academic for better policy formation on civic space. It also provides cross-country comparison on civic space of the South/East Asian countries. The objective of the CSOSI Project were: To prepare annual draft country report on ‘CSO Sustainability Index’; and To prepare the country score through wider expert panel consultations. – Funded by MSI and FHI360, USA
Media Advocacy on Right to Food (RtF/Sovereignty) : This project aimed to stimulate member of parliament and policy makers to advocate incorporating RtFS as a ‘fundamental right’ of the people. It has also aimed to make aware and capacitate larger general public public to advocate and lobby among their constituency representatives to defend RtF issues at the Constituent Assembly. In this project GoGo Foundation develop and produce television, radio programs and IEC materials using based information on RtFS issues and on aired through national television and FM radios. – Funded by CARE-Nepal
Earthquake Response-2015 (provide relief packages and awareness on health and hygiene) Project: Project intensively worked to provided relief packages to over 4,000 earthquake victims, including food, clothing, first aid kits, blankets, mattresses, and zinc sheets for temporary shelters for their families. Additionally, GoGo broadcasted health and hygiene-related messages through 20 FM radio stations in earthquake-affected districts, including Nuwakot, Dolakha, Ramechhap, and Kaski. – Funded by The Asia Foundation and Human Appeal International (HAI), UK
Building Capacity of Local Stakeholders to Implement Social Accountability Tools (Public Hearing, Social Audit and Public Audit) Project: February-December 2016. The implemented in 15 districts of Nepal (Banke Bardiya, Dang, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Surkhet, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Dhading, Gorkha, Lamjung and Makwanpur). The specific objective of the project were: To foster positive, constructive and critical engagement of local citizens to hold public officials accountable through applying social accountability tool (SATs)s -specifically public hearing, social audit and public audit; To build capacity of the Master on SATs and build the capacities of the local CSOs, village supervision and monitoring committee and representative of political parties, ward citizen forums, social mobilizers for SAT application, monitoring and evaluation; To increase key local stakeholders’ awareness and skills about legal provisions requirements and their roles and responsibilities for local service providers; and To promote dialogue among stakeholders to improve citizen’s engagement in governance and accountability the local service providers. – Funded by PACT Inc./USA under Sajhedari Bikaash Project – Partnership for Local Development
